The Jackson Whole Grocer is a proud participant in the CAST Bag Challenge. Organized by the Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST), the 2009 Reusable Bag Challenge will raise awareness about the importance of being conscientious consumers in our daily activities. Beginning March 1st, 2009, the Reusable Bag Challenge has engaged twenty-six mountain towns in a multi-state disposable bag reduction campaign. The Challenge will end September, 1st with the winner decided by which town reduces plastic and paper disposable shopping bags the most in their community. The winner will be rewarded with $10,000 from Alpine Bank to install a solar panel system. Participating towns are: Telluride, Aspen, Mountain Village, Snowmass, Basalt, Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, Frisco, Steamboat Springs, Grand Lake, Granby, Winter Park, Fraser, Estes Park, Crested Butte, Vail, Avon, Eagle, Gunnison, Carbondale, Gypsum, and Mnt. Crested Butte, CO. Jackson Hole, WY, Park City, UT, Sun Valley, Ketchum, Bellevue and Hailey, ID.
